Erromardie: your questions answered
What waves are there at Erromardie?
Two sides to it: lefts in the south and middle of the bay, softer, and a powerful, hollow right in the north, in front of the cliff, breaking over rock. A peak also forms at the river mouth.
What level is Erromardie for?
The left, in a south-westerly swell, is long and easy; the right in the north is for experts only. Everywhere, the rock and a strong current call for caution: if you’re a beginner, don’t go out on your own.
What tide is best for Erromardie?
The spot is mostly surfed from low to mid tide, but the rocks make it dangerous, especially at low tide. The right in the north, on the other hand, only works at high tide.
What conditions work best at Erromardie?
The ideal swell comes from the north-west, with an east-south-easterly to south-easterly offshore wind. It works all year round and picks up swell well, even when it’s small.
