Les Corsaires: your questions answered

What tide is best for surfing Les Corsaires?

The rocky groynes hold the sandbanks in place, so the peaks work on almost any tide. Once the waves are over a metre or so, you can even surf at high tide without the backwash getting in the way.

Where should I sit at Les Corsaires?

The most defined peak is at the southern end of the beach, and when one peak shuts down, another takes over. Held by the groynes, the banks stay fairly well in place.

Is Les Corsaires good for beginners?

Yes, in small swell: it’s a favourite with beginners and surf schools. Watch out for the many rips and frequent close-outs, though; on good days, experienced surfers find a few barrels here too.
