Le Miramar: your questions answered

What are the hazards at Le Miramar?

In heavy seas and on big tidal coefficients, the current is strong and can drag you out to sea, and the shorebreak can be violent on the rising tide. There are submerged rocks too, and La Roche Ronde, a protected area for seabirds, is off limits.

What kind of wave is there at Le Miramar?

An A-frame peak over sand and rocks, peeling both left and right with a bit of hollowness. It works on a west to north-west swell with an offshore easterly wind, and there are often fewer people in the water than at neighbouring La Grande Plage.
