Les 2 jumeaux: your questions answered
What kind of wave is Les 2 jumeaux?
A long right-hander, a few hundred metres long, that peels near the two rocks at the end of the bay. Surf guides describe it as a point break, over a mix of sand and rock. It’s a favourite with longboarders.
What level is Les 2 jumeaux for?
It’s more committing than the middle of the bay: take-offs are easy, but the water gets shallow over the rock, especially at low tide, so you need to know what you’re doing. If you’re a beginner, start in the middle of the beach and come to Les 2 jumeaux once you’re confident.
What tide is best at Les 2 jumeaux?
Mid tide is the best compromise. At low tide the water is shallow over the rock; at high tide, getting out through the rocks near the lifeguard post can be really dangerous, so paddle round instead.
What swell works at Les 2 jumeaux?
The spot is at its best in 1 to 2 m of swell. More exposed than the rest of the bay, it comes alive with the big north-westerly winter swells, which makes winter its best season.
