Cenitz: your questions answered
What level is Cenitz for?
It depends on the peak. In the south of the bay, a long and fairly gentle left suits beginners; in the middle, the left-and-right peak is faster and for experienced surfers; in the north, by the rocks, the fast right needs a good level.
What tide is best for Cenitz?
Mid to high tide: Cenitz is one of the few spots that works at high tide, which draws a crowd at that time. At low tide, the rocky bottom is exposed and forms little natural pools.
What swell works at Cenitz?
Cenitz works with a small north-westerly to westerly swell and a south-easterly wind. Its waves are known to be inconsistent, so check the forecast before you go.
Is Cenitz good for longboarding?
Yes: the left in the south of the bay is soft but long and fun to ride, and it’s popular with longboarders and old-school surfers. Watch out for the rocky bottom, though, even if the waves are slow.
